Opened Doors

verse 1
Artificial Intelligence…..
Is it a dream or a nightmare?
That I can upload my song lyrics,
and get a damn good song prepared.

verse 2
I don’t sing or play guitar,
But I can write all day and night,
I don’t hear a melody at all,
Then AI makes a song that’s tight!

chorus
The industry is at a crossroads,
Where tech and music meet,
Spend five minutes uploading lyrics,
You’ll get great vocals and a beat!
This train has left the station,
and is charting a brand new course.
Some resist and say no thank you.
But others see new opened doors!

Verse 3
Everybody wants what’s real,
On the stage or in the car,
And AI makes it very hard to know,
Which ones the “real” ones are!

pre-chorus
First we had the vinyls
8 tracks and then cassettes
this music evolution
has everybody placing bets!

chorus
The industry is at a crossroads,
Where tech and music meet,
Spend five minutes uploading lyrics,
You’ll get great vocals and sick beats!
This train has left the station,
and is charting a brand new course.
Some resist and say no way, man.
But others see new opened doors!

outro
Which team are you on?
Does AI drive you insane?
You could be like Millie Vanilie…
And just “blame it on the rain.” 😂

The industry is at a crossroads,
Where tech and music meet,
Spend five minutes uploading lyrics,
You’ll get great vocals and sick beats!
This train has left the station,
and is charting a brand new course.
Some resist and say no way, man.
But others see new opened doors!

Colors of Christmas ðŸŽ„

verse 1
There are bells made of silver
a Grinch that is green,
There’s a bright, yellow star
over the manger scene.

verse 2
There’s a red nose reindeer
and sometimes white snow,
(There are lumps of black coal
for bad behavior though.)

chorus
The colors of Christmas
create quite a mood,
of anticipation
and such gratitude….
for the birth of a Savior
and the whole Christmas story!
Let us count every blessing….
and take inventory!

verse 3
With trees full of lights
that blink, glow and shine,
Our hearts are as full
as gifted bottles of wine.

Oh! The colors of Christmas
create quite the mood,
of anticipation
and such gratitude….
for the birth of a Savior
and the whole Christmas story!
Let us count every blessing….
and take inventory!

Bridge
May you keep your focus on
Loved ones that are here
And the ones that are gone…..
And may the colors of Christmas
always be redrawn.

outro x 2
red, green, silver and gold
white snow, black coal
Keep coloring Christmas
with the youngest and the old.

Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas
Merry Colorful Christmas to all……

Dock House Nights

verse 1
it’s another dock house night!
where everybody feels alright!
There’s a warm sun setting,
And no one’s fretting
with cold drinks in sight.

verse 2
it’s another fun night out,
and that’s what it’s all about….
when the river calls you
You know exactly what to do
just stop and then reroute.

chorus
The drinks are flowin.,..
and a breeze is blowing….
on a Dock House night!
The tunes are jammin….
and there’s people dancin
on a Dock House night.

verse 3
it’s another laid back vibe,
So come on out and join our tribe.
Everybody’s chillin
And they’re  always willing
to have you subscribe.

chorus
because….the drinks are flowin
and a breeze is blowing
on a Dock House night!
The tunes are jammin
and there’s people dancin
on a Dock House night.

Outro
On a Dock House night…..
You gotta check it out……
Any Dock House night….
You’ll never want to leave….
On a Dock House night…..
Has anyone seen Sandy????
ha ha ha ha
She loves a Dock House Night!
oohhh ohhh…ohhh….

Downtown Jacksonville

Downtown Jacksonville…
Have you ever had the thrill?
Of spending time wandering
in a place that has no frill.

We’ve got Minor League baseball
And an NFL team,
But the homeless situation
Makes people want to scream
(Scream!)

Just ignore that ugly high-rise
because it’s actually our jail….(Jail!)
And that Skyway ride to nowhere,
Is considered an epic fail. (awwww)

If you have the urge for candy
Sweet Pete’s is close and handy
Grab a library book about the great fire
or a children’s book about Bambi.

You can sit outside on some benches,
Smell a mix of many stenches,
Or you can look at art that’s all around
to escape the concrete trenches.

You like live music shows?
We’ve birthed some talent here, you know…
We’re home to Lynyrd Skynyrd and
Molly Hatchet and live music overflows.

We’ve got a river winding north
and river taxis going back and forth
There’s  fireworks for occasions
Like New Years Eve and July 4th.

If it’s after 5 pm,
There’s a chance,  although it’s slim
(slim!)
that people after work,
are at a bar instead of the gym.

Do you miss having the Landing?
Or seen the riverfront rebranding?
of course, It’s possible to change
but needs ideas and understanding.

But you know what else we’ve got?
A steady pulse, that means a lot
it beats with hope that Jacksonville
will be a destination spot.

We will never be Orlando,
That is a-ok with us though….
We’ve got dolphins swimming by
Shad Khan’s enormous yacht, yo!

Everybody yell
Duuuuuvallll!!!!!

You Can

verse 1
You can do good works,
You can Eagle in Scouts.
You can love Mother Earth,
And find fresh water in droughts.
You can raise up your kids,
To stand firm for what’s right.
You can cure all disease,
A page for historians to write.

pre chorus
But who’s your Lord?
Who is it you will proclaim?
Where do you put your trust?
Who fans the light of your flame?

chorus
I pray that it is Jesus!
He paid the price for you.
He died for all our sins,
So we can live a life brand new!
I pray that it is Jesus!
He is the only way,
To live a life eternal,
After this one fades away.
I hope you know my Jesus!

verse 2
You can give everything away,
All the riches that you earn.
You can create world peace,
Asking nothing in return.
You can free all the slaves,
And find the children that are lost,
You can right the world’s wrongs,
Never wondering the cost.

pre chorus
But who’s your Lord?
Who is it you will proclaim?
Where do you put your trust?
Who fans the light of your flame?

chorus  x 2
I pray that it is Jesus!
He paid the price for you.
He died for all our sins,
So we can live a life brand new!
I pray that it is Jesus!
Because He is the only way,
To live a life eternal,
After this one fades away.
I hope you know my Jesus!

So Proud

verse 1
You are definitely not a perfect man,
But darling, you are so very close.
You’d get a five star Google review,
as far as dad and husbands go.

Though you butcher every song that plays,
I love how you unapologetically try.
And somehow you never lose your cool,
Even when I start to backseat drive.

chorus
So many feelings for you
overwhelm my heart,
When we’re in private
or even in a crowd.
And any story I tell,
or song I write about you,
The headline will always be…..
that I’m proud.

verse 3
We are both middle aged and seasoned,
but still very much youthful at heart.
When making plans, we first choose each other,
More in love now than we were at the start.

Life has tried throwing us some curve balls,
But we locked our arms and took it in stride.
And we came through each storm together,
The end result was that it gave me more pride.

chorus
So many feelings for you
overwhelm my heart,
When we’re in private
or even in a crowd.
And any story I tell,
or song I write about you,
The headline will always be…..
that I’m proud.

bridge
I know that God is in charge,
And i know that he has a plan.
What it is, we will both have to see,
But, when I get to heaven
and run through those gates,
I’ll thank the Lord
that he gave you to me!

outro
I’m so thankful……
oooooh…..
And so proud.
I’ll sing it softly …
oooooh…..
And out loud. . .
so proud.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Lucky Me

Verse1
I dreamed of you both
long before your time—
brushing my babydoll’s hair,
pretending they were mine.
Dressing them in tiny outfits,
taking them on little walks,
in my small and tender voice,
speaking how a mother talks.

Chorus
Oh, my sweet daughters,
what a gift you are to me.
Becoming your mama
is the one thing
I always wanted to be.
Lucky me.

Verse 2
Holding your tiny hands,
with just my fingertips.
When you’d look up and smile,
my heart would do backflips.
Every tear you cried
fell inside my own heart too—
and any pain you felt,
I wished I could take for you.

Chorus
My growing daughters,
what a gift you are to me.
Being your mama
is the one thing
I always wanted to be.
Lucky me.

Verse 3
Now we’re sharing clothes,
and we argue about rules.
Your daddy and I are hoping
we’ve given you loving tools—
so when life pulls you far,
your compass holds its course,
and when your wells run dry,
you’ll come home to the source.

Bridge
I will go to my grave
knowing I lived the best life—
not for riches or for fame,
but for being Mom,
and being wife.

Final Chorus
Oh, my sweet daughters,
what a gift you have given me.
Becoming your mama
is the one thing
I always hoped that I’d be.
Lucky me.
Lucky me.

Not Requests

Words by c.c. Snowden

Music and vocals by Songer

verse 1

The US government….
decides things from an ivory tower.
Practicing religion of its love
of control and power.

verse 2
Our late founding fathers….
would be amazed at what they’d see.
And the dumpster fire that has become
Washington , D.C.

chorus
But really….
We just want freedom….
and protection for when we need it.
We just want borders, inviting in those
who won’t mistreat it.
We want good laws….
and consequences for those that break ’em.
These are demands…
not requests to be mistaken.

verse 3
This land that we love…
is to be a hopeful light
But the ones who are “in charge”
only want to blame and fight.

verse 4
Each day on “the news”….
there are bad headlines ever churning
meanwhile taxpaying voters…..
are disgusted with fierce heartburning.

chorus
But really….
We just want freedom….
and protection for when we need it.
We just want borders, inviting in those
who won’t mistreat it.
We want good laws….
and consequences for those that break ’em.
These are demands…
not requests to be mistaken.

bridge
Get it together!!!
All you politicians!!!
Quit playing games!
Focused on your own ambitions….
Put voters first!!!!!
We’re the reason you are there.
We need term limits!!!!
And fewer of you with white hair.

outro
Do your job-
tell the truth-
it there’s “fire,”
show us proof.

We just want freedom….
and protection for when we need it.
We just want borders, inviting in those
who won’t mistreat it.
We want good laws….
and consequences for those that break ’em.
These are demands…
not requests to be mistaken.

Dear Sandy

Once there was a woman
and her name was “Sandy”
her husband’s name was David
And the life they made was dandy

They bought fancy house
with a lovely river view
They were living in retirement
With nothing much to do

Then about four years later
while sitting on their dock
Some lights began to shine
and they heard some classic rock

Sandy turned to David, and said,
“Ugg, are you kidding me?”
“We pay too many taxes
for this life of luxury.”

So David crossed the river
and found the music source
He wanted to please his wife
without having to use much force

They turned the music down
at this new marina bar
where friends and neighbors came
all knowing who each other are

But Sandy was still annoyed
And in attempt to make it better
She sent the bar a voicemail
and wrote a strongly worded letter.

The owners of the bar
shocked that they complained
Drafted Sandy a response
and here’s what it explained……

Dear Sandy……..
Your life is fancy……
and we’re happy for you,
but do not covet.
Our bar is awesome
and it will blossom …..
And if you don’t like it
Well, you can shove it!
