Their Dad

He stops off at the store,
To get what they want.
He’s generous for sure,
But — does not flaunt.
He really loves his girls,
A heart ironclad….
Cause he’s their dad.

They tease him in the car,
About his driving.
Not knowing where they are,
But always arriving.
He gets lost more,
than just a tad,
Oh well, that’s their dad.

He tells them right from wrong,
Shaping their morals.
He prays they’ll grow up strong,
And ends their quarrels.
If they don’t agree…..
Well that’s too bad,
He is the dad.

He drives them up to camp,
Burning up a lot of miles.
Brighter than any lamp,
He loves to see their smiles.
He’ll make a joke or two,
Cause leaving camp
makes them so sad,
That’s just their dad.

They see him with their mom,
Paying attention.
Dancing like it is Prom,
Inside the kitchen.
They’ll find good men,
And love them like mad,
Because of their dad.
