Inside

She had a head of blonde hair and blue eyes,
A gentle spirit and a crooked grin.
Standing an average 5 feet 5,
Considered attractive, but not a 10.

No matter what she would do for attention,
Or how much makeup that she applied.
The most beautiful parts about her,
Were the ones she kept deep inside.

She was always fun and so easy going,
And went on more dates than she could count.
But sometimes her insecurities were showing,
When sipping cocktails in large amounts.

Some nights she’d lose all her inhibitions,
Then afterwards in the bed she cried.
Cause they didn’t care about what was within
And all the parts she kept deep inside.

She matured enough to see her value,
After decades of mistakes and regrets.
She was ready for change and to start new,
And forgive the past sins and past debts.

No longer needing the whole world’s approval
She was free from a life in disguise.
She asked for God to help in the removal,
Exposing all she had kept deep inside.
